Hunting Insect

It has been long time since i wrote my last post in this blog. More than a year i think. Yeah, let's say i was very busy in that period of time.

Today i am still busy, but i want to share about insect collection. Everyone who learning insects must be able to collect the insect first. How can you learning the insects without catching,  killing and collecting the insect to identify the morfology or just catching and rearing it in your place to learn more about it's life. So, here i would like to share about my experience in collecting insect.

The first important thing to collect the insect is knowing what insect that you want to collect. Studying about the habitat and don't forget to search in the internet about the picture of that insect. So, you will know the face and the form of it.

Then, prepare you tools. The tools to catch the insect is depend on the habitat of the insect. If you want to catch aerial insects such as butterfly, dragonfly, mayfly or flies, you need the aerial net. If you want to catch nocturnal insects, you can use light trap. And if you want to catch the insects in the ground, you can use pitfall trap. The other important thing to prepare is the bottles or plastics to safe your insects. If you use plastics, you must blow the plastics to keep the insect in the original size then put that in a big box to keep your insects before you proceed it in laboratory.

Well, initially i wanted to upload some picture of the tools. But, i think i did not save the pics in this computer. I will post it soon.
